Just yesterday we made a Target run. The girls and I had to go to the toy department to buy a birthday gift for a friend whose party they are going to tomorrow. I reminded them to look around for something that they thought their friend would like, but, of course, they ended up spending time looking at the things they liked. In the midst of our looking, we noticed a Ken doll in the Barbie doll aisle. This was no ordinary Ken doll, though. This Ken doll is called "Sweet Talkin' Ken." Just push the button on Ken's chest, and you can record a short phrase. After releasing the button, Ken repeats the phrase in a slightly lower and slower voice. The results were so funny! We all grabbed one and started recording silly phrases. I said, "Where's Barbie? I miss Barbie!" The phrases just went downhill from there. There we were, all three of us girls, standing in the Barbie aisle, laughing out loud. I finally had to put an end to our fun. We still hadn't found a gift for the girls' friend!
The girls decided that they would each get a smaller gift to give their friend. Kylie found a book, and Mia put together a cute, little gift basket from the dollar section.
Toys certainly aren't the same today as they were when I was growing up!
